Choosing a converter
BankStatementConverter.com vs AnyStatement: which fits your statement job?
BankStatementConverter.com is worth considering for API access, international statements and repeated small jobs on its registered daily allowance. AnyStatement fits a US-focused job needing a larger free batch, a small non-renewing purchase or named financial file formats. If your bank already provides the file you need, use that first.

This comparison covers the service at bankstatementconverter.com, not every product called a bank statement converter. The choice depends on how much work you have, when you need it done and what you need to download. We can compare those things, but we can't tell you which parser will read your particular statement better. There's no accuracy ranking here.
Facts checked on 18 October 2026. AnyStatement wrote this page and sells a competing converter. We reopened the linked public pages and checked AnyStatement's published pricing implementation and product documentation. We didn't upload statements to BankStatementConverter.com, call its API, buy either product or test extraction, deletion or accounting imports for this comparison. The recommendations below are judgments about fit, not measured superiority.
Try the bank export or software you already have
A CSV or Excel download from your bank avoids reconstructing a table from a PDF, as long as it covers the account and dates you need. Transaction history isn't automatically a substitute for an official statement. For example, Wise documents CSV and XLSX statement downloads on the web and in its app. If you still have access to the account, that's a better starting point than converting a Wise PDF.
If the file is going into your books rather than a spreadsheet, your accounting software may already have a route for it. Intuit's US upload guide, updated 24 August 2026, describes English-language PDF/image statement upload with side-by-side review in QuickBooks Online. You'll need to confirm availability and terms in your account. Intuit also says its global experts may review items that need attention, so this isn't an offline route.
For an Excel-only job, Power Query's PDF connector is worth trying if your edition exposes it. Microsoft documents table selection and cleanup of misidentified multi-line rows; its page metadata was updated 9 October 2026. Adobe's online PDF-to-Excel option also offers an XLSX download. We didn't establish its repeat-use free limit, so don't assume an unlimited free archive conversion. With either option, you still need to compare the rows with the statement. The native-route guide covers the longer accounting decision.
The published offers, side by side
The free and paid figures below come from BankStatementConverter.com's rendered homepage and pricing cards, and AnyStatement's pricing catalog. All prices are USD as checked on 18 October 2026. A page allowance is not a promise about speed, successful extraction or the number of transactions an export will contain.
| Offer | BankStatementConverter.com | AnyStatement |
|---|---|---|
| No account | 1 page every 24 hours | 3 pages/day, shared per network; midnight UTC reset |
| Free account | 5 pages every 24 hours | 30 pages/month instead; first-of-month UTC reset |
| Monthly | $30/400 pages; $60/1,000; $99/4,000 | $19/600 pages, replacing the free monthly allowance |
| One payment | Pricing cards show subscriptions; see cancellation terms below | $9/100 pages; $29/500; $79/2,000. Packs last 12 months and do not renew |
| Annual | $180/4,800 pages per year; $360/12,000; $599/48,000 | $144/year; 600 pages renewed monthly, not an upfront yearly pool |
AnyStatement's annual price is equivalent to $12/month, but you pay $144 for the year. Unused free and Pro pages don't roll over, and packs require an account. BankStatementConverter.com labels its annual quantities as pages per year, but the cards we inspected don't explain when those annual credits arrive. Confirm that before planning a large upload.
AnyStatement counts transaction-bearing pages, with a one-page minimum and a statement-page fallback when source positions are unavailable, so check the displayed page charge rather than estimating from file count. Automatic charging requires agreement with printed balances and enough available pages. An unverified result waits for your decision to use pages. We didn't establish BankStatementConverter.com's cover-page treatment or scanned-page weighting.
Daily pages and a monthly batch solve different problems
Neither free offer is always larger: it depends on when you need the pages. These fictional schedules assume unused allowances, supported statements and the published page limits. They illustrate timing, not a conversion or export test.
| Your job | BankStatementConverter.com | AnyStatement |
|---|---|---|
| One 3-page PDF, no account | Exceeds the advertised 1-page allowance | Fits the 3-page daily allowance if the network has not used it |
| Six 5-page PDFs together | 30 pages exceed one registered 5-page window | Fits an unused 30-page account allowance |
| Seven separate 5-page jobs | 35 pages fit across seven eligible 24-hour windows | Exceeds 30 account pages if all seven fall in the same month |
Six separate five-page PDFs could instead be scheduled across six eligible daily windows at BankStatementConverter.com: 6 × 5 = 30 pages. That isn't 30 credits saved up for one day, and the homepage's “every 24 hours” wording doesn't establish a midnight reset. Keep a complete statement together rather than splitting it to squeeze under a free quota, because splitting can separate transactions from the balances needed to review them.
AnyStatement's account allowance replaces its anonymous allowance; you don't get 30 monthly pages on top of three daily pages. If available pages don't cover a statement, its free preview shows the first five transactions and an arithmetic-check summary, but omits detailed balance breaks for hidden rows. You need enough pages for the complete export. We didn't establish BankStatementConverter.com's exact free export-row and watermark rules from the pages we read.
Where BankStatementConverter.com is the better place to start
If you want to understand who operates a converter and how they describe failures, BankStatementConverter.com gives you something useful to read. Its About page names Angus Cheng, who says he started it in April 2021 and runs it alone. Those are self-reported details, not independently checked company records. Its older blog archive includes 2021 engineering posts, alongside the 2026 articles linked here. That public writing is a reason to consider it, not a security certification.
The bank-specific writing is concrete. In his Commonwealth Bank article, dated 12 September 2026, Cheng describes changing debit/credit columns and missing years. His Wise article, dated 8 September 2026, discusses localized dates and descriptions that cross column boundaries, and states the parser's limits. These are self-reported technical accounts, not independent tests or guarantees that every current statement from those institutions will convert.
In his 2 August 2026 negative-amount bug report, Cheng describes invisible minus signs and reports a fix for that particular statement type. We're crediting the explanation. We aren't presenting the old bug as a current defect, and we haven't independently verified the reported fix.
For non-US statements, its bank directory offers a broader published starting point: the vendor says 722+ institutions across 70 countries. That count isn't an audited list of tested layouts. AnyStatement is built for US checking, savings and credit-card statements; other statements may convert but aren't guaranteed. If you need automation, BankStatementConverter.com also has a documented customer API, though you should confirm plan eligibility, limits and support before depending on it. AnyStatement doesn't currently offer a customer API.
Its price points can suit heavier recurring use. At full use of the advertised allowance, the $99/4,000-page monthly tier works out to 2.475 cents per included page; AnyStatement's $79/2,000-page non-renewing pack works out to 3.95 cents. Those are different purchase types, not a claim that either is always cheaper. Unused credits, page-counting rules and renewal matter more than a headline unit rate.
A fictional 80-page job: compare the payment, not just the unit rate
Suppose you need one CSV catch-up job now: 80 distinct, text-based PDF pages, all containing transactions. You've already used both services' applicable free allowances and have no paid credits. For this example, assume both can process the statements and count the job as 80 pages, without retries or extra charges. These are synthetic assumptions, not results from uploading a file.
| Purchase | Payment now | Pages left |
|---|---|---|
| BankStatementConverter.com Starter monthly | $30 for 400 pages | 320 |
| AnyStatement 100-page pack | $9 for 100 pages | 20 |
The pack costs $21 less for this job: $30 − $9 = $21. But Starter's included-page rate is lower, at 7.5 cents versus the small pack's 9 cents. Buying a cheaper page isn't the same as spending less on the work in front of you. If you can spread the job across future free windows, or already own credits, this calculation no longer applies to you.
BankStatementConverter.com's terms, last updated 6 April 2021, say subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. In his 21 September 2026 cancellation article, Cheng says users can still spend remaining credits after cancellation. That's the founder's self-reported policy, not a cancellation flow we tested. Don't assume the 320 remaining pages immediately disappear, though we didn't establish their expiry deadline. If you intend to stop renewal, cancel it and confirm the remaining-credit terms. AnyStatement's 20 remaining pack pages last until the pack's 12-month expiry, without a subscription to cancel.
Write down what you need to download
The file you need for spreadsheet work may not be the one you need for an accounting import or API response. BankStatementConverter.com's homepage names Excel (XLS); its directory describes CSV, Excel and JSON, and its API explicitly offers CSV or JSON. The API docs also describe scanned/image-PDF processing and supplying a known PDF password. We didn't exercise those paths or establish QBO, QFX, OFX or QIF output. “Not established” doesn't mean the feature is absent.
AnyStatement offers XLSX, generic and destination-specific CSV, QBO, QFX, OFX, QIF and JSON. Our import guides explain the destination-specific routes. Generic CSV and XLSX include source file, page and line references; destination layouts can omit those columns, and manually added rows may lack a source position. Downloads are files you import yourself, not direct accounting connections.
For spreadsheet review, you need complete dates, descriptions, signed amounts and enough source references to find a questionable row. For an accounting import, the application edition, accepted extension, account type and required columns determine what you need. Write those down before selecting an output: a CSV layout named for QuickBooks isn't a QBO file.
A downloadable JSON file alone isn't an automation interface. If you need automation, confirm the supported API plan, authentication, scan status handling and output shape.
The file-format guide explains that distinction. Before committing an archive to either product, review one complete statement for row counts, signs, descriptions and printed balances. AnyStatement's source links and arithmetic checks support that work, but they don't certify every date or description, reconcile the books for you or prove document authenticity. If something doesn't match, record it in the statement review log rather than adjusting a balance merely to make it match.
Both publish short source-file retention
BankStatementConverter.com's privacy policy says uploaded documents persist on its servers for 24 hours, are then deleted and are not forwarded to third parties. We found no visible update date on that page, and it doesn't establish separate deletion deadlines for extracted results, backups or support attachments. You'd need to ask about those; the gaps aren't evidence that the service is unsafe.
AnyStatement's trust documentation, dated 13 October 2026, describes default access expiry 24 hours after upload and a deletion sweep every 15 minutes, so storage deletion can follow expiry by roughly that interval. Signed-in users can choose longer retention up to 30 days; an explicitly permitted problem-report copy can also be kept for 30 days. The core converter uploads to AWS in the US. It is separate from the browser-local CSV utilities.
Neither an anonymous start nor a short deletion promise means offline processing. We didn't measure either service's deletion behavior. AnyStatement also explicitly says it has no SOC 2 report or ISO 27001 certification. If you need formal procurement evidence or permission to upload a client's statement, those questions come before price.
Choose by the job you actually have
BankStatementConverter.com is a place to start if its international directory, API or repeated five-page registered allowance matches your work. Its founder's technical writing is useful pre-purchase evidence to read. AnyStatement fits a US-focused review workflow, a 30-page free account batch or a small non-renewing pack with explicitly listed financial exports. Neither recommendation predicts extraction accuracy on your PDF.
If the bank's native export or your existing application already does the job, stop there. For PDF-only records, you can try BankStatementConverter.com or try AnyStatement within the published allowances, then review the result before paying for a larger job. The total payment, the actual output and the work left to check are the comparison that matters.
All linked sources were opened on 18 October 2026. Pricing and quota values that required JavaScript were read in the rendered browser; the fictional cost and allowance calculations were recomputed with Python Decimal. No bank download, Excel/Acrobat conversion, live accounting import or competitor extraction was run. Product prices and limits can change. If a cited fact has changed, tell us which page needs correcting, but please don't send a statement or account details with the correction.
